The explain why this world needs water, but

The greatest problem facing our society is water pollution. Water is the most necessary resource for life. Not only is it vital to stay alive, but today’s society depends on water for almost everything. Water is used for domestic needs, such as plumbing, bathing, dishwashing and laundry. It is also becoming a luxury, since water provides the fun that people have on weekends through their alcoholic beverages. In addition, swimming is one of the most popular sports in the United States, since the United States is represented by the Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps. The list goes on to explain why this world needs water, but every day all these people unconsciously pollute the water, on which they depend a lot. The amount of pollution in the ocean today is really disgusting when you realize that the ocean is the main water supply for everyday life. In this paper, I will discuss many of the ways the ocean is polluted, how this pollution affects our society and living resources, and finally some potential solutions to help prevent over-pollution.Genetically Modified Foods
The greatest problem facing society is genetically modified foods. Genetically Modified Foods should be labeled as such because we do not know the possible effects that gmos pose to your health. Robert gould, MD, an associate professor at the University of San Francisco Department of Obstetrics weighed in on the growing concern of the safety of Gmo foods. Doctor gould describes how Gmo foods could potentially introduce genetic material to the cells of the body that could have adverse health effects , such as antibiotic resistance. Unlabeled Gmo foods also pose as an obstacle to physicians, who cannot provide proper and factual information to decisively answer questions concerning possible food allergenicity and side effects of gm foods. “As much as patients have a right to know what is in their food, physicians also need to know what their patients are eating”, said (Gould) president of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of Physicians for social responsibility, which also endorses GMO labeling. Without proper labeling on Gmo foods, Physicians are unable to effectively provide the answers and potential health hazards they impose, Furthermore Gould talks about how there is an ethical obligation as a health provider to give people full information. Supporters of Gmo labeling argue that it is a consumer “right” to know , while opponents say that the labeling would be an “alarmist” since there is no conclusive evidence of the health risks associated with Gmo foods. Genetically Modified Organisms that have been treated with pesticides constantly evolve and change to develop new resistances against pesticides making a increase in the use of pesticides. The University of California San Francisco Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE) has extensively reviewed the reproductive health impacts of pesticide exposure on pregnant women and children, finding that exposure to certain pesticides have been linked in human studies to childhood leukemia, neurological and other adverse developmental effects (Gould). This fact from the study done by the University of California San Francisco concluded the effects that gmos impose on the public health and the well being of pregnant women. And is also another reason why Genetically Modified Foods should be labeled as they impose a danger to your he
