limited is known as the first Telecommunication Leader and operator license
owner for Data Communication & Internet Service Provider locally and
established in 1991 as a subsidiary of a foreign telecom which is Singapore
Telecom International, Singapore as a joint venture also with Capital
Development & Investment company. Currently it is the market leader in Data
Communications exclusively to corporate with the customers over in Sri Lanka.

LankaCom is a leader
for Data Communication leader over the past 25years operational experience by
expanding the service into a wider range of business communication needs. Under
the connectivity solutions, it provides internet via a synchronous transport
module-STM 4620Mbps & STM 1155Mbps which connects to several tier1 service
providers globally in Sri Lanka, Asia, Europe and united States of America,
also to International private Leased Circuits (IPCL), Video Conference Service,
Wifi, Private Network Service (VPN), and many more. Company also provides IT
security services for System & Applications, Network, disaster recovery,
System integration, network monitoring & surveillance & data center.
Through Web Solutions & E-Commerce, the company provides web designing and
domain name hosting.

Surveillance sites, Wifi, IPLC, Web Designing and network solutions and
E-commerce. It successfully connects to STM-4/ STM-1/Tier 1 service providers
to so many countries with a speedy and bandwidth of internet and services and
100% growth in 2016, surpassing 100 000 subscribers.

The motto or the
organization is “Service First Always” by providing high standards of disaster
recovery and information security. Those achieved 70% growth compared to last
year, by providing services to both private and government sectors. The company
owns 11% from revenue by recording topline of Rs.9.45 providing a strong growth
of 28% year on year in 2016.

2.3  CHALLENGES
AND ISSUES

Poor team building,
Lack of properly designed employee motivation strategies, emotional controls
and favoritism of employees with distribution of incentives without disparities
among the staff carders and remuneration focused compared with others has
resulted in poor performance, attendance, demotivation, less productivity,
increased turn over and finally eroding loyalty. From March 2016 to March 2017,
turnover of 27 out of 120 executive staff has left the company.
